I did my homework and it paid off! June 30, 2010 K. Angle (Ravenna, Ohio USA) I did my homework....took a LONG TIME to research the different strollers. The GRACO Metrolite is the lightest weight large stroller. I LOVED the GRACO stroller frame that I purchase to use with the infant seat and hated the idea that I would have to go with something heavier once he was out of the infant seat. Plus, I have a Chevy Cobalt and I wanted to make sure it fit in the trunk...and it does. My son loved this stroller (until we introduced him to his wagon). Love the peek-through on top; however, if it's extremely sunny, you have to cover with something (especially when baby is sleeping). Love the basket. The side folds down to make it easier to access. I have used it several times at the store as my "shopping cart". Love the colors...the Soho pattern actually matches the GRACO Snugride 32 in Zurich nicely! Actually wish I would have come across this stroller before I would have invested in the GRACO stroller frame. Would have purchased this first and saved my money on the frame for something else.
Definitely recommend! Folds nicely. Easy to use. Fits in small trunk!
Great Stroller June 27, 2010 sd I love this stroller, and so does my infant! It's lightweight, easy to use (even my non-technical, non-gear parents can use it), and easy to fold down and put in your trunk. I particularly like the fact that it has multiple position seat recline. The swing out tray is not the easiest thing for me to use, but my husband seems okay with it...that red button can be hard to push down. The basket on the bottom is also great, but sometimes hard to pull out. It also fits our Graco Snugride infant car seat. We bought a different model/pattern, but still fits in perfectly.
Solid stroller - even used it for jogging on unpaved trails! May 31, 2010 R. Anderson (Raleigh-Durham, NC, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After we had our first baby I began my quest for the PERFECT STROLLER. I mean, with all the options out there, surely there must be one that does it all? Lightweight enough for toting around and travel, sturdy enough for everyday use, easy one-handed opening while holding a squirming baby, comfortable padding, safe, convenient for holding plenty of gear, smooth ride.
Well folks, once I found the Metrolite I stopped searching. It isn't the mythical PERFECT STROLLER, but it is pretty darn close. The thing is sturdy and stable enough that I even took Baby jogging on unpaved trails that had some serious up and down hills! He was strapped into the 5-point harness so he was snug even as we ran down the hill at 10 mph. After it stood up to that kind of use I was convinced we had chosen the right stroller.
We've had the stroller now for a year and it is still in excellent condition, even after frequent use. Nothing is torn or broken.
My only complaints are about a couple of quirks: the rear wheels are wider than the front wheels so sometimes I'll start walking through a narrow pass only to realize the rear wheels aren't going to make it. The rear width means you can't sneak this thing onto an escalator - I've tried. The rear wheels are wider so that the stroller can fold flat, so it is justified in my book. Also, I once spilled a beverage on the push-button that is used to collapse the stroller. Once the beverage dried it was sticky and I had a hard time getting the button to push. Picture me in the security line at the airport trying to collapse a stuck stroller. Not fun. I had to rinse it several times to wash away the sticky stuff. But that really was my fault, not necessarily a design flaw, and once it was rinsed it folded down perfectly.
So that's my take on this stroller. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat - especially given the price. We got it on sale here on Amazon for under $90. I'm glad I didn't spend the money on a bigger, heaver, bulkier stroller. The Metrolite does it all.
Great Stroller for small baby April 6, 2010 I. Marmolejo (Queens, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my daughter and it has turned out to be a good purchase. I love that it can recline almost flat and the wheels are big enough that my daughter does not feel the bumps. The basket is generous and easy to reach. The color is stylish and can be used for either boy or girl. This is a great stroller for going to parks. It is easy to fold but it is a bit heavy and bulky, especially when using the trains. Otherwise it is a great purchase, especially for a smaller baby.
Nice Stroller February 26, 2010 Lynn Todd (PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm very happy with my graco metrolite stroller purchase. The fabric is really nice, I love the large storage compartment underneath. Its great that the handle can be adjusted to meet your height needs.
