Works well, I don't understand all the bad reviews! July 30, 2010 Kt633 (Michigan, USA) I don't usually review things, but I felt like I needed to review this one because after I got it for a shower gift I was really worried about all the negative reviews that I have seen about this monitor. It has been great for us! Good battery life, no blinking red lights, good sound, small enough to fit in your pocket, never looses reception. My son is 5 months old and we have used it every day of his life and never had one problem (knock on wood, knock on wood). We like that the base can be put anywhere and runs off of batteries if you need it too. (Really convenient when we lay him in the pack and play in the living room and we want to go outside for yard work). The vibration is a good option if you're doing something that you would not be able to hear the monitor, like mowing the lawn or something. We don't use it for anything else. We usually keep the monitors on their bases, because if you turn them up, you can hear them from a couple rooms away. There is really no need to wear these things unless you're outside or you live in a really big house. So, maybe that's why we haven't run into any battery issues.
HATE this monitor! Cannot replace battery! July 20, 2010 Momma Jess We got this monitor as a baby gift when my daughter was born. We used it and really liked it for about the first 6 months. Then we moved into a 2 story house where we really needed it more and more. I was finding that it would not stay charged as long as time went on. Then it would not recharge at all or work when connected to the base. I went to 20+ stores trying to buy the rechargable battery that comes in it only to find out YOU CANNOT REPLACE THAT BATTERY MODEL! I was furious! A $90 monitor that lasted less than a year! I had to buy a new monitor....and it was NOT this one. Caution: Do not buy and expect that you can just replace the batteries when they quit recharging!
Great monitor! July 13, 2010 busymom I was hesitant of this monitor because some of the reviews i read were terrible. I love this monitor! It is crystal clear with no feedback. I had a different monitor for the past 2 years and I had learned to sleep with the feedback and interference. This one is so much better. No issues with the battery either but we charged it EXACTLY according to the directions and I let it run all the way down 2-3 times a week instead of leaving it on the charger all the time. My only complaint is that the channel button is on the nursery unit instead of the parent unit. I have had the monitor for a month though and have only had to change the channel once. Buy it!
Awful! Does not work as promised! July 10, 2010 Katherine M. Lloyd I have to add to the poor rating of this product. I bought mine at Target, but it's so awful I want to shout it from the mountain tops.
It worked as a wireless monitor for about 1 month. Our property is 60 feet by 50 feet. I was in the back yard, 20 feet away from babys room and it wouldn't work. I had dreams of gardening with the baby monitor clipped to my belt... NOPE!
It works most of the time plugged in and only in the room directly below baby's room. Only most of the time (80%), sometimes we are just baby monitor-less. Can't figure out if it's rainy days or sunny days or days that end in Y.
Terrible, terrible product.
HORRIBLE monitor June 22, 2010 A. Glass This monitor doesn't even reach through one wall (it advertises that it reaches 2000 ft!). We've tried different channels, different homes and placing monitor & parent units in different places but nothing worked. Until we bought a different monitor, we had to keep the parent unit in the hallway outside our baby's room with his door open. Even then, the unit was never consistent. I had to keep moving it around and even got woken up several nights because the monitor went out of service and kept beeping. It worked fine the first two months we had it, but after those months it's progressively gotten worse. Don't waste your time, effort or money on this item!
