Rating High Chair Only July 4, 2010 Hopels (East Coast) We were feeding our boy in his bumbo until he outgrew it (At 5 1/2 months). The chair was relatively easy to build and is sturdier than it looks in the pictures. It wheels around very easily on our thick carpet too. I know that people worry about the belt system but once you get it down I prefer it to the usual 5 point harnesses that you find in car seats and strollers. It is easy to clean (we have not had any major spills though) and it is not the ugliest thing on earth.
We have not tried the portable booster seat yet but who would be crazy enough to try and put a 6 month old boy in a high chair in a restaurant?
The tray pops out very easily and the two different sizes are great for play time vs eating time. As for the lower support piece for the tray being attached to the tray, I personally (as a man) think this would be more comfortable than the other type of high chair -for a boy at least.
Ultimately this is a great buy and it is our son's new favorite place to sit and play with toys!
Such a functional chair July 3, 2010 tigress (NH) I love this chair! It has more good thing about it than it does bad. My daughter has been using it quite happily for 5 months now and we have used it from the start of her first bite. It is versatile and comfy and it is a perfect for what we need it to do now and in the future.
Pros:
#1- Easy to clean. Things that fall in stay in the cushion and can be easily wiped out or taken off to wash. No hidden crevices. There is no place for food to get to that can't be wiped out
#2- I don't have to buy a second high chair or booster seat. 3 kids could potentially be using this at once as long as you leave the infant part on the floor for safety reasons.
#3- Height is a breeze to adjust and there are 6 different heights
#4- 3 recline positions
#5- Wheels move easily and lock. I pull it towards me after I sit or wheel it to other parts of the house. I have hardwood floors and carpet and it is good to both we are just careful when moving it around
#6- So simple to take the booster seat off or change the chairs for different stages
#7- Adjustable foot rest to 3 positions. It does need some force behind it though
#8- The infant padding insert is an attractive pattern- The regular padding is just plain old beige
#9- Sturdy 5 pt. harness which all pieces can come off to go in the wash:)
#10- The tray - It is easily adjustable for 3 distances and it has a removable tray to put in the dishwasher. Also the way it is designed makes it hard for food to go under the clear tray. It also has a smaller snack tray underneath the larger tray.
#11- It is hard to pinch any body part- yours or child's- because if the way things move and such
#12- Interesting design
#13- The t-bar is attached to the tray making it adjustable and moveable so that it won't hurt or constrict the crotch area (also a con)
#14- Assembly was pretty quick and easy. It didn't take much time- Under 30 min. Many things just snapped into place. We barley used any tools. It looks like it could topple over since it has no back legs, but it is very sturdy.
#15- Can use part of it for traveling
Cons:
#1- The t-bar is attached to the seat. I have to have a good grip until the harness or tray goes on. When she is older and not wiggly I don't see it being a problem. I think it is more of a pro than a con for me though.
#2- The tray is a little heavy and the removable part is hard to fit or won't really fit into a dishwasher ( maybe it's just the kind I have).
#3- The wheels on hardwood slide very easily when I pull her out. I have to put a foot behind it to keep it from sliding. When the wheels are locked it isn't an issue though. I do love though how easy it is to move around
#4- The chair doesn't fold up to put against a wall or store away
#5- There is no place for the booster so you have to put it in storage until you are ready to use it
#6- One of the more expensive chairs out there
#7- Straps can get lost when kids sit on them
It is one of the more expensive chairs but I am the type of person who likes to get the biggest bang for my buck. I really feel I did so especially since I can use it for 2 or possibly 3 kids at once. I feel I got 3 chairs for the price of one.
More expensive, but has variety of uses that in the end saves$ June 17, 2010 NewMom07 We chose this because of the 4-in-1 feature. I wasn't sure if we'd actually use all the features, but it definately has made life easy with this chair!
Positives:
-easy to clean
-tray slides out easily (unlike other highchairs)
-2 tray size options (we use the smaller one when travelling)
-reclines (great for at around 6 months for them to hold their own bottle)
-easy to roll around (hasn't harmed our cherry floors)
-adjustable chair height
-can take the chair part off and attach it to an adult chair (we use this for travelling and weddings)
Kind-of-Negatives
-the straps are a bit of a pain to attach around the child
-overall it is larger than other high chairs
-rather heavy if you have to lift it down stairs or anything
-doesn't fold if it is something you want to store in a closet
Overall, the 4-in-1 feature will save you in the end. You don't have to buy a high chair AND travel high chair to attach to an adult seat. Plus there is a booster you can use for your toddler when little baby #2 arrives!
LOVE THIS HIGHCHAIR June 12, 2010 Amy Mcelroy I've had this highchair for 4 months now and my daughter just loves it! She was 6 months when we got it and she is now 10 months. When I first saw the seat, I was a little worried about it being too small. However, she seems to have plenty of room to grow. Once she's too big for that part will probably be time to move her to the booster-style seat, anyways. I love the fact that this is four seats in one. When we go somewhere (i.e. going to Grandma's for Easter), I can just pull the top off and throw it in the trunk. The colors and look is GREAT! The insert and shoulder straps were very helpful when my daughter first was in it. The materials are good quality and very wipeable! I LIKE the fact that the T-bar is attached to the tray. I don't understand the complaints about that... I LOVE the fact that it actually has 3 trays in one. When the top one is dirty, I can just pop it off and throw it in the dishwasher. It totes around the kitchen very nicely and best of all, my daughter loves being in there. She has rarely wanted out of her highchair. If anything, she will actually fuss and whine when I take her out of it!
the best chair and good for two kids at the same time June 8, 2010 FF (USA) the chair is great, very easy to assemble, has reclaining seat and good for two kids at the same time.Very sturdy but easy to move around. I wish they would have more choice in colors. I bought mine in TOYSrUS after I found coupon online that gave me discount for 30 dollars, so the final price was 150.
