Recline Feature Does Not Hold March 19, 2010 Amy (Newington, CT) I have used this high chair since my daughter was old enough to sit upright. She is now 28 months. Overall, the chair has done its job, but my major complaint about it is that my daughter quickly learned if she forcibly throws her weight back in the chair, it will "recline" on its own, or the chair slips out of its upright notch and clicks down another level - she does it multiple times until it is fully reclined even though I want her upright. She is basically slamming her little body against the chair to achieve this effect. My other complaint is that the vinyl cover is ripping at the sides, but overall I think vinyl is a much smarter choice in a high chair than fabric (my other Graco). I wouldn't buy this chair again because of the recline not holding, I think that could be unsafe.
Like so much, I bought 2! February 11, 2010 Nicolette Clark (Charleston, SC) I have a 6 year old and twin babies. We bought very nice expensive baby items for my first daughter b/c we were young and didn't know better...we thought expensive meant better. I kept all her things for when we had another baby. Of course, not knowing I was going to have twins...so eventually we had to invest in a second high chair amongst other things. I purchased a very cheap $39 Cosco brand high chair from Target that was garbage and I gave it away after only trying it once. I searched for something that wasn't as much as our Fisher-Price one ($129 7 years ago!) and that wasn't cheaply made like the Cosco one I had bought. We decided on this one and I was so happy with it I bought another one and threw out the expensive Fisher-Price one! What I like about this chair is that it has a built in plastic bar across the seat so the baby cannot fall out. Wonderful! Also, the cloth seat comes off very easy which makes for fast and quick cleaning. The buckle is quick and easy too. I have one baby who is very active and hardly anything can keep her in. She tries her hardest to get out of this high chair but it holds her in well. It's durable and well-built. The seat can also recline to 2 lower positions which is great for bottle feeding. It is a wonderful price and also it has natural color tones and blends in well to any decor.
All the right features December 16, 2009 Gena Vaden (San Diego, CA) I love the parent tray, where you can put food jars out of the baby's reach. The baby's tray is also adjustable so he can grow into this chair. The chair also reclines, which is nice because sometimes babies do fall asleep in their highchairs. It was easy & quick to assemble.
Not great, but it does work September 26, 2009 Amanda Hamm (NC) The biggest issue with this high chair is that it is too big. The tray in particular is larger than it needs to be, taking up extra space in the dishwasher and making it extra heavy. I recommend not attaching the parent part of the tray at all, it's just one more thing to wash. A six-month-old (about when a baby will start using a high chair) will only take up about half the seat and will have the tray coming up almost to his armpits. We just left the tray off for the spoon feeding stage.
It's also too tall. You won't be able to push this chair up to the regular table for your older toddler which might give it a shorter useful life.
On the other hand, the straps are nice and sucure and the molded plastic between the legs is a plus to help a smaller baby sit up. The cover comes off easily for washing and you can use the chair without it if you'd rather just wipe off the sides. And considering that this chair is priced significantly below many of the other options just might make it a pretty good value.
Good for the price August 24, 2009 R. Gonzalez (Houston, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think this chair serves for its purpose. The tray is a little to big, and it moves very easily on tile floors. For a curious baby, I would prefer something with a better grip, but this highchair is good for the money.
