long-lasting infant carrier March 6, 2010 CM (Chicago, Illinois) My daughter is 18 months and still fits in this seat. She is only 20 lbs and 31 inches, which is on the small side. We use it as a regular car seat-- i.e. not an "infant carrier" in our secondary vehicle. It is really convenient that it is usable for so long as opposed to the other infant carriers.
Its a car seat January 18, 2010 N. Peterson (Woodbridge, VA) We liked it but our 8 month old is now in a bigger seat, a Britax rear facing seat not a carrier, shes almost 20 lbs and this thing was getting way to heavy to carry with her in it. But it was great while we used it.
Love it! December 3, 2009 CQ This is the best car seat for safety and price! Plus, the Rittenhouse design is beautiful! Use this carseat with the Graco or Baby Trend Snap N Go and you have a perfect way to stroll baby around. I also have the Quattro Tour Deluxe stroller in the same design for longer strolls with rougher terrain.
The carseat is heavier, but it accomadates your baby longer.
***If you don't want to lug a heavy seat and baby, then skip it all together and get a covertible carseat that stays in the car and then you will not be lugging it all around. The bonus you will miss out on by having a covertible carseat is waking a sleeping baby when you must remove them from the car seat. Get the safeseat and you will love it---and the baby will not wake up when you remove the seat with baby from the car. Peaceful sleep is priceless.
Easy to Use, Snug Fit November 25, 2009 Wanny (Michigan) I loved this seat(my daughter outgrew it).
Things I loved:
*Easy turn of a knob to adjust the recline.(This also allowed me to get an absolute rock tight fit. I reclined it little more than needed, tightened the LATCH strap then turned the knob to incline it back which essentially raised the base and made the strap even tighter)
*Goes to higher weight and height limit
*Comfy for baby
*Had the matching stroller available which my husband calls the Hummers of strollers.
Nothing negative to say. It still looked brand new after over a year of use.
Very heavy and straps get stuck November 15, 2009 Lisa My baby is in 90+ percentile and I liked the idea of a longer lasting car seat. However, with my 4 months old, 16 lb baby boy now, it is very heavy and uncomfortable to carry him around in this carrier. I am a female that used to strength train and lift weights, but I'm still strugling with it. The straps get stuck all the time. It is very annoying, especially when baby cries and you can't get him out. My husband just gave up on it. I'm thinking about switching to a convertable car seat.
